A Department of Defense (DoD) website honoring Major General CHARLES C. ROGERS (61), a Medal of Honor winner for his actions during the Vietnam War, has been removed. This action follows policy reversals on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) throughout U.S. agencies during the presidency of DONALD TRUMP (78).

The real reason for Rogers' removal from DOD history most likely has to do with a 2021 opinion piece in Military Times, entitled Maj. Gen. Charles C. Rogers: Talent through diversity, equity and inclusion, that was written by retired Colonel CHARLES D. ALLEN, who is an African professor of leadership and cultural studies at the U.S. Army War College.

Allen's views clearly did not reflect "the official policy or position of the Department of the Army, Department of Defense, or the U.S. Government." In an effort to embrace DEI, professor Allen inadvertantly put a big red target on the back of Maj. Gen. Rogers, who is deserving of his honor. Hopefully, the DOD will self-correct as it did when it removed mention of the Tuskegee Airmen from its official history.
