JUNIOR BRIDGEMAN DIES During Fundraising Event

JUNIOR BRIDGEMAN (71), a former NBA player who built a billion-dollar business empire in his post-playing days, died after he suffered a medical emergency at a fundraising event in Louisville.

Bridgeman played 10 seasons for the Bucks in the 1970s and 80s and is one of nine players in franchise history who has their jersey number retired.

The Louisville Courier Journal reported that Bridgeman fell ill during an appearance at the Galt House hotel in Louisville and died later in the afternoon, the hotel confirmed.

“Junior Bridgeman was an integral part of our community. From his athletic impact to his philanthropic efforts, he will be deeply missed,” said Lance George, chief marketing officer of the Al J. Schneider Company, which owns the Galt House. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bridgeman family during this time.
