MARTIN LUTHER KING'S FAITH: Does It Matter?

The Truth Behind MLK's Social Gospel | Virgil Walker

The short answer is: Yes. The 5th century Chinese general/philosopher SUN TZU (48) identified five constant factors that govern the Art of War. The first factor is Moral Law, which "causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger."

In his letter to the Galatians, the Apostle Paul says: "there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:7-9)

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. (39) denied the divinity and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but used his moral authority as an ordained southern Baptist minister to spread a "social gospel" that blended elements of Gnosticism, Hinduism and Unitarianism. King used eloquence to hide his unbelief from a late 20th century African-American community that was still firmly rooted in the Christian faith and the Church, which served as his power base.
