Democrat YEMI MOBOLADE (45), a "political newcomer" who was born and raised in Nigeria before coming to America for college, has become the first elected Black mayor of Colorado Springs, which has been a Republican stronghold for 45 years. LEON YOUNG served as the city's interim mayor for several months in 1997, but wasn't elected.
