State representative JAMAAL BOWMAN (47), a Socialist Democrat, pulled a fire alarm in a government building to delay a vote on a Republican spending bill. Creating a false fire alarm is a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. Bowman says he “was trying to get through a door. I thought the alarm would open the door.”
