Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) says it’s laying off around 900 employees from its PlayStation division, roughly 8 percent of that department’s headcount. Insomniac (Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank), Naughty Dog (The Last of Us) and Guerrilla (Horizon) are all affected by the cuts. During the 2020-21 boom years, the video game industry was supercharged by the pandemic and cheap cash, and flooded with money. Plenty of studios and publishers overextended, and found themselves vulnerable when investment dried up.

In addition to investment money drying up, many traditional gamers feel a "woke" agenda is being forced down their throats and their families. Fans of major franchises like Grand Theft Auto, Gears of War and The Last of Us with its homosexual suplot have  all expressed their displeasure and many of them are voting with their wallets.
