Two boys, ages 12 and 13, were arrested for physically assaulting former New York governor DAVID PATERSON (70) and his 20-year-old stepson.

Paterson, who is legally blind, suffered injuries to the face and head and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. His son suffered injuries to the face and was also transported in stable condition.

In addition to being the first legally blind person to be sworn in as governor of a U.S. state, Paterson was also the first African-American governor of New York.
