A growing number of Democrats are looking to unseat Mayor ERIC ADAMS (64) in next year’s primary as he and his administration face multiple federal probes for everything from sexual assault to links with Communist China.

In November 2023, Adams was sued for sexual assault, battery, employment discrimination based on gender and sex, retaliation, a hostile work environment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The defendant was a former female city coworker who was employed with Adams back in 1993. 

The NYPD Transit Bureau and the Guardians Association of the NYPD were also named in the lawsuit as defendants.

In the Spring of this year, during a federal probe of Mayor Adams, agents raided the home of his  director of Asian affairs, WINNIE GRECO (61), looking for private emails and records of trips Adams made to China with between 2014 and 2021 when Adams was Brooklyn Borough president. Greco, pictured below, organized the trips.

Federal authorities say at least one of Adams trips was partly funded by the Chinese Communist Party. 

In early September, deputy Mayor of Public Safety PHIL BANKS (61) — another top Adams aide — was accused of having a having a hand in steering millions of dollars in city contracts to companies represented by his brother.

Fast forward to last Thursday, when NYPD Commissioner EDWARD CABAN (57), who was the first Latino to serve as Commissioner of the NYPD, stepped down after federal agents raided his home and the homes of various other police officials and close aides to Mayor Adams. Caban has also been linked to the Chinese Communist Party.

Over the weekend, Adams’ chief legal counsel, attorney LISA ZORNBERG (53), abrubtly resigned late Saturday night with no explanation.
