Celebrity worship and cognitive skills revisited: applying Cattell’s two-factor theory of intelligence in a cross-sectional study

A host of "C-List" celebrities, like JOHN LEGEND (45), KERRY WASHINGTON (47), and elderly retirees, like PATTI LABELLE (80) and STEVIE WONDER (74), were paid to show up for the Democratic Party's presidential nominee KAMALA HARRIS (56) at the DNC convention last week.

When vice president Harris  launched her campaign with a fake country accent down in Atlanta, she was joined by none other than raunchy "Wet A** Pu**y" rapper MEGAN THEE STALLION (29).

Disgraced music producer and accused violent sex trafficker SEAN DIDDY COMBS (54), who felt the black community got "shortchanged" after he endorsed BARACK OBAMA (63), was still enlisted to co-sign HILLARY CLINTON (76) back in 2016 over DONALD TRUMP (78).

Combs, presumably, would have been on deck for Kamala if not for his myriad of felony legal issues.

Team Harris ended up having to settle for LIL JON (53) after not being able to lure, TAYLOR SWIFT (34), BEYONCÉ (42) or ANGEL REESE (22).

According to a research study published in 2022, there is a direct association between celebrity worship and poorer performance on the cognitive tests that cannot be accounted for by demographic and socioeconomic factors. Cognitive testing is an assesment of a person's memory, thinking, or other brain functions.

GENEVIEVE ROTH, founder and president of Invisible Hand, a culture change and strategy agency, who helped MEGHAN MARKLE (43) rebrand herself as a black woman and previously served as Hillary Clinton’s director of creative engagement (ie "black folks like hot sauce") says:

"For a celebrity, an athlete, a musician, to lend their name, their influence to a candidate, they are risking a lot — starting with some amount of trolling in the comment section. It’s not without its sacrifices, so you have to really be motivated to do it on behalf of a candidate. Kamala Harris seems to have inspired a tremendous amount of devotion from this community.

It's not clear what community Roth, who discovered she was racist after marrying a black man, is referring to.
