ERNEST OWENS (32) says the GEORGE FLOYD (46) social reforms were "supposed to be a sustainable movement [but] turned into a moment for white liberals to simply virtue-signal while it was trendy."

Owens, who is the political writer-at-large for Philadelphia magazine and president of the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists, was right when he wrote those words in his opinion piece for The Daily Beast back in October of last year.

Those same white liberals are responsible for killing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

In the week following the accidental killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers, over $19 million was raised by ActBlue Charities Inc., which is an American political action committee and fundraising platform that was established to serve left-leaning and Democratic nonprofits and politicians.

Marginal race-baiters, neo-socialists, LGBTQ+ advocates and "woke" millennials with lackluster resumes were platformed by the white liberal establishment and forced down the public's collective throat in music, movies, television, video games and beer commericals.

You know. People like... LIZZO (36), who actually has talent with no sense of decency, and TREVOR NOAH (40), who is not talented, but seems to be an altogther decent chap.

But let's get back to Owens, a self-described "lifelong" Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity member who identifies as a "Black queer millennial", says back in 2020 "several white-led nonprofits" reached out to him to speak to their "white staffers on how to be better allies." Then the well dried up.

Nobody was buying it -- literally -- and that's why major corporations and institutions are bailing on DEI.

Nobody, not even Lizzo, was buying the fact that she was happy being overweight.

Nobody was buying the fact that rapper T.I. (43) even knew who Trevor Noah was when he was asked to "co-sign" the South African biracial.

Nobody was buying it. It was all performance art... make believe... pretend.

Fast forward to October 2023 and the unprovoked Hamas terrorist attacks on innocent Israeli civilians.

Play time was over. Now it's the DEI plants, politicians and programs that are being defunded -- not the police.

As Owens points out in his highly-recommended Daily Beast article: "DEI ... has been found not to be effective—no matter how many white people demand them as a way to express a desire to change. They might even be causing more harm than good."

The final nail was hammered into the DEI coffin when disgraced Harvard president CLAUDINE GAY (54) was forced to resign after she received backlash from her disastrous congressional testimony about the Hamas attacks; as well as, allegations of plagiarism and doubts about her personal integrity. But Gay's not a victim. She was enabled.

The dirty little inconvenient truth about all of this is that many white liberals don't want serious competition from anyone that doesn't look like them. Some resent the fact that Asians and East Indians have leapfrogged them in the socioeconomic hierarchy, so they are intent on maitaining their position over blacks and hispanics.

Just ask former ESPN personality RACHEL NICHOLS (50). Better yet, ask NBC if they're seeing a return on their lottery ticket investment in MARIA TAYLOR (37), who makes $5 million a year when the average annual salary of a sports reporter at a media broadcasting company is just under $67k.

How about CHIRLANE MCCRAY (69)? The former black wife of former New York City mayor (and happily single) BILL DE BLASIO (63). If you remember, McCray burned through $1.8 billion of taxpayer money for a mental-health-related something-or-other, called ThriveNYC, that produced no results -- unless you're counting the increase in violent crimes by New Yorkers with mental health issues.

Conservatives say everything should be merit-based and the best qualified will rise to the top, but that's naive.

The white liberal elite mindest works something like this. Select someone unqualified you can control, set them up for failure, then say you tried, but it didn't work out. Either way, there's rarely any real commitment to diversity.

So, what to make of KAMALA HARRIS (59) and the push by the liberal establishment to make her president?

Their endgame is simple: Defeat DONALD TRUMP (78) at all costs, even if it means scaling back diversity, equity and inclusion programs to appease congressional Republicans, who hate Trump just as much as they do.
