Paramount Drops Plans to Sell BET Stake

Paramount global is no longer selling a majority stake in Black Entertainment Television because it was being offered less than the $2.3 billion Viacom paid ROBERT L. JOHNSON (77) for it in 2001. Media reports that BET was purchased by TYLER PERRY (53), who currently owns a minority stake in the network and produces most of its mediocre programming, were false.
